Ruth Gipson Plowhead (1877-1968) was an author of eight young books, the most well known all but which was her "Lucretia Ann" convoy. All of her books were publicized by Caxton Printers of Idaho, excellent Caldwell-based publishing firm founded by repel brother, James H. Gipson. She further regularly contributed to Child Life paper as well as Better Homes limit Gardens and Garden Magazine.
She married Prince Hayes Plowhead on June 20, 1906.
